Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
This policy explains how Jackson HomeCare handles personal information. It covers this website and the enquiries, quotations and work that follow from it.
Who is responsible for your information
Jackson HomeCare is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us about anything on this page at info@jacksonhomecare.co.uk.
What we collect
When you make an enquiry, we ask for:
- Your name, email address and telephone number
- The town or postcode of the property
- The type of property and what needs doing
- How soon you need help
- The property address, if you choose to give it
- Any photographs you choose to attach
If we go on to carry out work, we will also hold records of the quotation, the work done, any certification issued, and our correspondence with you.
We do not ask for and do not want payment card details through this website. We do not knowingly collect information about children.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quotation | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Arranging, coordinating and completing work | Performance of our contract with you |
| Keeping records of work, quotations and certification | Our legitimate interests in running the business properly, and legal obligations where certification applies |
| Understanding how the website is used | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
We do not use your information for marketing unless you have separately asked us to, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Who we share it with
To do the work, we share only what is necessary with the professional carrying it out — typically your name, the address, and a description of the job. They are expected to use it for that purpose and nothing else.
We also use these service providers:
- Our email provider — enquiries reach us by email, so the content of your enquiry passes through and is stored by our email service.
- Our website host — which processes the request when you submit the form.
- Google Analytics — only if you have accepted analytics cookies. See our cookie policy.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend legal claims.
Where it is stored
Some of our providers operate outside the UK. Where information is transferred abroad, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work — kept for up to 12 months, so we have context if you come back to us, then deleted.
- Records of work carried out — kept for 6 years after completion. This is the period during which a claim could be brought, and it means we can show what was done and by whom.
- Certification for regulated work — kept for as long as it remains relevant to the property.
Photographs you send are kept with the enquiry or job they relate to and are deleted on the same basis.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete information we no longer need to keep
- Restrict how we use it, or object to us using it
- Transfer it to another provider, where that applies
- Withdraw consent, where consent is the basis we are relying on
Write to us at info@jacksonhomecare.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first, but you are not obliged to.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit. Access to enquiries is limited to the two of us. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your information seriously and will tell you promptly if anything significant goes wrong.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page. Where the change is significant we will say so clearly rather than quietly amending the text.
